Summary of PracticeAarti S. Kewalramani joined Gatzke Dillon & Balance LLP as an associate in 2006, and became Of Counsel in 2018. As Of Counsel, she consults on environmental, land use and planning, and litigation matters. She works on a variety of issues, including preparation and certification of CEQA-compliant documents, and in the land use and planning, real estate, business, and general civil litigation practice areas. Ms. Kewalramani has developed expertise on EIR visual resources, public services, utilities, open space, parks, and recreation issues. She also supports the firm’s land use and environmental practice areas, including land use and land use compatibility matters. In addition, Ms. Kewalramani provides assistance and guidance on complex land acquisition negotiations. Ms. Kewalramani also works on the preparation and review of legislative, land use, and policy initiatives and ballot measures.
In addition, Ms. Kewalramani focuses on complex construction-related disputes and litigation matters as part of the firm’s construction and litigation practice areas. She also has experience resolving landlord tenant and eminent domain disputes. Her experience covers all stages of litigation in state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations and mediations.
Ms. Kewalramani graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2006. During law school, Ms. Kewalramani served as Associate Editor of Research on the San Diego Law Review. Ms. Kewalramani also assisted Professor David S. Law in his research pursuits, which included comparative constitutional law, federal judicial appointments, European law, and biosecurity legislation. In addition, Ms. Kewalramani was an intern at the U. S. District Court, Southern District of California and the San Diego Superior Court.
Ms. Kewalramani graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. At UC San Diego, Ms. Kewalramani was the Community Service Chairperson for an organization dedicated to improving the plight of South Asian women.
Ms. Kewalramani was admitted to practice in 2006 in California, and is admitted to the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California, and the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
