GDB represented the applicant of the Palomar Heights project, a 510-unit mixed-use redevelopment of the old Palomar Hospital site in downtown Escondido. The firm assisted the applicant with preparation and certification of the project’s CEQA documentation, addressing historic resources, greenhouse gas emissions, hazards, vehicle miles traveled, and other issues. When a local union filed a CEQA lawsuit challenging the infill project, the firm was promptly able to negotiate a successful settlement on its client’s behalf, creating a pathway for this vibrant project to revitalize Escondido’s downtown for years to come.
