Construction Defect Litigation

GDB has decades of experience serving as litigation defense counsel to its builder and developer clients, and at times has also represented subcontractors and design professionals.

GDB’s attorneys have represented clients in construction defect litigation in a range of construction project types, including large-scale master planned residential communities, condominium projects, high-rise residential construction, single-family detached residences, mixed-use developments, schools and other public works projects. As a result, the attorneys in the construction practice group have developed a substantial depth of experience regarding both construction processes and the specific legal issues that can arise in relation to claims involving construction defects.

GDB’s attorneys have successfully represented clients in construction defect litigation through trial and appeal, but frequently resolve these matters through the use of pre-litigation processes, and alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, which is used regularly to successfully resolve such claims quickly and in a more cost effective manner than is typically possible through traditional civil litigation.  GDB’s experience with these processes, coupled with its legal expertise, and knowledge and expertise in identifying and marshalling available insurance resources for its clients, allows the firm to achieve the best available outcome for its clients.
